About
Ghost Rails is basically AllTrails but for abandoned railroad tracks — specifically for people who want to ride them on a rail cart.
That's it. No app exists for this. So I built one.
How the tracks get on here
Honestly, right now most of it is researched online — Google Street View, satellite imagery, old railroad maps, forum posts from people who've been there. Some I've ridden myself. Some I haven't. The condition ratings are my best guess based on what I can find, and they'll get better as more people submit their own firsthand info.
Where it's going
The goal is to make this community-driven — if you've actually been to a track, you know things no satellite image can tell you. That knowledge shouldn't just live in your head or a private note. Submit it here and it helps everyone else who's trying to find the same thing.
Who made it
I'm Eli. I ride abandoned railroads on a homemade rail cart and film it for YouTube. Ghost Rails started because I kept wanting a map that didn't exist, so eventually I just made it.

Ghost Rails is free to use and always will be. If it's helped you find a track or plan a ride, a coffee goes a long way.
