The last untrailed piece of Seattle's Eastside corridor.

The Seattle, Lake Shore & Eastern built this route in the late 1880s, looping from Seattle around Lake Washington and north to Snohomish. It later became part of the Northern Pacific and then Burlington Northern.

BNSF sold the corridor in 2009. The southern part through Bellevue and Kirkland became the Eastrail and Cross Kirkland Corridor trails. The northern section from Woodinville to Snohomish saw a few more years of short-line freight and excursions before going quiet. It's now owned by Snohomish County, which is weighing a trail.

⚠️ Before you go: every railroad on this map is private property. A line that looks abandoned may still be owned by a railroad, used to store rail cars, or put back into service at any time — sometimes with no warning. Before going near any track, make sure it's truly abandoned (no recent use, rails not polished, no signals or cars stored on it) and that you're allowed to be there. Never assume a track is dead.
