Georgia Southwestern — Eufaula Branch

AL · Eufaula → White Oak

A short-line branch left to the Alabama woods.

Heads up: Rated impassable. The track is still owned by a railroad, so get permission before going on it.

This line was built as part of the Central of Georgia's network in southeast Alabama and later passed to CSX. In 1989 the Georgia Southwestern Railroad started up as a short line on former CSX track in southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama, and it has dropped and added lines ever since.

This stretch near Eufaula no longer sees trains. The rails are still in place, overgrown in spots, with the old crossings still visible on Street View.

⚠️ Before you go: every railroad on this map is private property. A line that looks abandoned may still be owned by a railroad, used to store rail cars, or put back into service at any time — sometimes with no warning. Before going near any track, make sure it's truly abandoned (no recent use, rails not polished, no signals or cars stored on it) and that you're allowed to be there. Never assume a track is dead.
